HNU CSEE researchers (r:l-r) LI Renfa, LUO Jiawei, XIAO Degui and XU Ying have attended the signing ceremony with Hunan Provincial Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital (President SHENG Xiaoquan, Director of Science and Education Department WU Yali, Director of Information Center LI Quan and other related staff). The opening ceremony focused on developing the Co-operative (Co-op) education base and research base for talent training with data integration system, which will enable data sharing regarding women and children health research.
Four professors from Hunan University are close to fulfilling their vision of a new data-sharing resource for the women and children health research community. This can be attributed to supports from from the national and provincial governments.
The project will leverage advances in both organizations that make it faster and easier to produce and share secure health research data.
Led by both organizations, the Co-op training and research base will enable biomedical research to be shared with partner institutions domestically and internationally.
HNU will bring in partners and create the technical setup that will allow researchers at its member organizations to share unprecedented amounts of complex data.
“The Co-op base will exploit HNU’s big data expertise, and its computing power as host of a national Compute China data centre, to network and collaborate in ways that haven’t been possible before,” says Dean, LI Renfa. “There is tremendous potential for making significant breakthroughs in precision medicine【精准医疗】as a result.”
